Course Structure – Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm)

The D.Pharm program at Amarnath College of Pharmacy is divided into three parts.

  • Part I & II cover theoretical and practical aspects of pharmaceutical sciences, including drug development, production, marketing, and distribution.

  • Part III focuses on practical training, offering hands-on experience in hospital and community pharmacies.

As per the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) guidelines, students undergo on-the-job training or internships at reputed institutions, subject to availability.

During this training, students gain exposure to:

  • Proper record keeping and documentation

  • Use of pharmaceutical instruments and apparatus

  • Reading, understanding, and dispensing prescriptions

  • Safe storage and handling of drugs and medical preparations

Duration

The D.Pharm course at Amarnath College of Pharmacy is a 2-year program that combines theoretical learning with extensive practical training. The curriculum is divided into two academic years, focusing on classroom instruction, laboratory work, and hands-on internship or industrial training to prepare students for a professional career in pharmacy.

Eligibility

  • Candidate shall have passed 10+2 examination conducted by the respective state/central government authorities recognized as equivalent to 10+2 examination by the association of Indian universities (AIU) with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, mathematics (PCM) and or Biology (PCB/PCMB) as optional subjects individually. Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations.

  • Provided that a student should complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the course.
